Gary Oldman Film Retrospective: His Oscar Year?

Is This Gary Oldman's Oscar Year?

Gary Oldman's name has been hanging around the Oscar water cooler for quite some time.

And many believe that his most recent film, "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" will finally be the role that will win him the gold. In addition to fans, his colleagues are also holding out for a win for their esteemed peer. He even got a blessing from his "Tinker" co-star and last year's Best Actor, Colin Firth.

"I mean, I think he's unrivaled in my generation," Firth told HuffPost. "I think he should be on his sort of sixth or seventh win now. And I think this is arguably the best thing he's ever done."

So to celebrate Oldman's lauded, though Oscar-less, career, he is being honored with a six film retrospective, which will run from Jan. 9-11 at the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood.

His latest contemplative spy flick has been holding its own in limited release, which was expanded to 55 theaters over the Christmas holiday weekend and has grossed $2.2 million to date.

Take a look at the films that will be included in the series -- "Sid and Nancy," "JFK," "The Contender," "Dracula and Prick Up Your Ears" -- as well as some of his other notable roles.

Let us know if you think this is Oldman's year and which film is your fav!
