Oprah's Farewell Show: 'Star-Studded' United Center Event Planned

One of Oprah Winfrey's final shows is going to be star-studded spectacular featuring "some of the biggest names in music, movies and television," but the guest list is being kept from the public--and from Winfrey herself.

Harpo executives told the Chicago Tribune the final show will be recorded May 17 at Chicago's United Center. "Surprise Oprah! A Farewell Spectacular" will air May 23 and 24.

“As most of our viewers know, being surprised is not one of Oprah’s favorite things," executive producer Sheri Salata told NBC Chicago. "In the spirit of our farewell season, she is making a rare exception and we intend to make the most of that opportunity. It will be something to see!”

Those who sign up on Oprah.com between 10 a.m. CT Friday and 11:59 p.m. Saturday will have a chance to win free tickets to the United Center taping. The tickets will be distributed randomly.

Oprah's final original episode will air May 25, and details about the final show have not been released.
