Paterson Holds Press Conference To Discuss Scandal Rumors (VIDEO)

Governor David Paterson held a press this afternoon to address the rumors and allegations swirling around Albany and beyond.

Paterson flatly denied any wrongdoing, saying that the rumors are "just that: rumors."

When asked why the New York Times, whose supposed "bombshell" story set the recent chain of events in motion, have yet to comment on the media hoopla and accusations ranging from drug-fueled orgies in the governor's mansion to political cronyism involving the recent Aqueduct Racetrack deal, the governor told the press that that's "a question you'll have to ask [the Times]."

Paterson also took the opportunity to reaffirm his candidacy for governor in 2010, saying that the whole episode has only helped support his decision to run.

Paterson ended the press conference with a firm declaration, stating, "The only way I won't be governor next year is at the ballot box, and the only way I'll be leaving office before is in a box."
