People's Sexiest Man Alive: The Most Memorable Hair Moments (PHOTOS)

Who can resist mullets and iced tips?

People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive series has been broadcasting our national crushes for decades, plopping hunky actors in front of the camera for one annual, collective swoon.

But since they began in 1985, the Sexiest Man Alive covers have also doubled as an exhaustive hair history, documenting the trendy crew cuts, man bangs, hair gel and bald spots (!) of years past. Today, People unveiled this year's Sexiest Man Alive, Channing Tatum, with a rather timeless cut. But there are other men whose 'dos were very much of their time... for better or for worse.

We can't fathom Patrick Swayze's feathered shag landing him covers today, nor can we imagine that Sean Connery's bald head would have American ladies swooning. But hey, Brad Pitt's bleached blonde tips were once deemed sexy -- anything is possible.

Check out the decades of memorable hair on the heads of People's Sexiest Men Alive. You be the judge: are these coifs still sexy?
