Chicago White Sox pitcher Phil Humber on Monday evening capped off a whirlwind weekend -- during which he pitched a perfect game for the Sox as they defeated the Seattle Mariners 4-0-- with an appearance on David Letterman's show.

On "The Late Show" Monday, Humber chatted briefly with the late-night TV legend before he read the evening's top 10 list: "Thoughts that went through Philip Humber's mind during his perfect game."

Among Humber's thoughts were "thank goodness I drafted myself for my fantasy team" (No. 7) and "can Broadway's 'end of the rainbow' really be like seeing Judy Garland in person?" (No. 5).

In addition to his appearance on Letterman, Humber also received a congratulatory tweet from New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow and a phone call on Monday from President Obama, who the pitcher said asked him about his nine months' pregnant wife Kristan and their child on the way.

"He shared some of his experience of being a new father. He's a very nice man, and he represents our country in a good way. He's definitely a great communicator, and I appreciate him talking to me," Humber said of the presidential call, the MLB blog reports.

Of his achievement Saturday, Humber said, "What just took place was just awesome." It marked baseball's 21st perfect game and the first since Philadelphia's Roy Halladay threw one against the Florida Marlins in May 2010 and the third in White Sox history.
