To say that matters of the heart affect the art process is an understatement. Picasso's portrait of his mistress and muse, Mary Therese Walters is now on view in Paris for the first time since 1932, when it was made and first shown . The painting is one of Picasso's more vibrant and joyful paintings, in great contrast to his darker, more serious paintings, namely, one of his wife, Olga.

The painting will be at the Hammer museum in London next month.
