Okay, we know we're supposed to be talking about the weekend here, but we'd be remiss if we didn't inform you of a must-check-out event that's happening tonight (between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.): the "Wine and Jewels" sale at 1182 S. La Brea, where you can snag some seriously insane baubles by designers like Giles & Brother at up to 80% off. After, you may want to perch up at one of these spots for a Shandy, which is the perfect early summer afternoon cocktail.
With those two very important tasks out of the way, it's time for all of us to focus on the weekend proper. If you woke up this morning feeling as though you'd lost your will to live, let us give it back to you. To start, tomorrow is National Doughnut Day. (You're feeling better already, right?) Also on tap for the weekend: some amazing sales including the Gilt City Warehouse Sale and the Helms District Vintage Boutique, a ton of great music including the Jubilee Music Festival, an appearance by Bill Clinton, and a cemetery screening of Pulp Fiction.

Friday
Hey, ho! It's National Doughnut Day! This is our kind of holiday (sorry, people-who-have-to-look-at-us-in-bikinis!). To celebrate, Sticky Fingers Doughnuts is hosting two pop-ups, one at The Refinery in Santa Monica anytime after 7 a.m. and the other at Delibar on Fairfax after 11 a.m. Or, swing by BLD, where the pastry chef will be testing out new doughnut and ice cream concoctions from her upcoming doughnut shop. For freebies, hit up Krispy Kreme.
Later, on your lunch break, rush on over to Thvm Atelier (1317 Palmetto St.) for a not-to-be-missed LD Tuttle sample sale.
Tonight, consider Bacaro LA for dinner via this Gilt City deal, or Drago Centro via this Blackboard Eats deal somewhere in the midst of whatever you decide to get up to. To that end, you have a lot of options. First up is the Jubilee Music Festival, which starts at 3 p.m. and runs until 2 a.m. Headliners include Trash Talk and the Black Lips, among others. If festivals give you anxiety, you could instead opt to watch the fun from a rooftop party across the street. Hosted by Villains Tavern, this two-night-only pop-up pow-wow will feature DJs and drink specials all night.
If semi-obscure bands aren't your thing, we suggest you post up at Celebrate LA, which includes appearances by Bill Clinton (our first crush), Eric Garcetti, Ryan Seacrest, and others. If you get there at 5 p.m., you'll even get free nachos.
Other options include: the Great Horror Campout (um, we'll pass!); a Dodgers vs. Braves game; the LA Derby Dolls Roller Derby; performances by Capital Cities at the El Rey (tickets are still available on Stubhub, albeit for a pretty penny), The Boxer Rebellion at Avalon, or The Virgins at The Viper Room; a Pedro Almodovar double feature at The Egyptian; Dan Levy of Chelsea Lately fame at The Hollywood Improv; or "A Prairie Home Companion" at The Greek.
Saturday
If you're into watersports--or just hot men--we suggest you start the day at the Santa Monica Pier for the Paddleboard Race & Ocean Festival. While you're in the area, hop over to La Sandia to get a free churro with purchase of an entree.
The rest of you should begin the day at the Gilt City Warehouse Sale. While you've got the credit cards out, you may also want to check out the D.A.P. sample sale, which looks pretty cool. After--if you don't feel like stopping off at Ninja Con or SKAM poolside at Drai's, grab a late brunch at Rock & Reilly's, if for no other reason than that the crowd is almost always male-dominated. Then, get your credit cards back out because you're headed to the Helms District Vintage Boutique, which is part vintage pop-up shop, part clothing expo, and 100% awesome.
Later in the afternoon, you can return to the Jubilee Music Festival or--if you're feeling flush financially and would like to feel flush from boozing--check out the LA Winefest instead. (Tickets are $49, but if you're anything like us, you can definitely get your money's worth out of this one).
Tonight, as per usual (this is LA, after all!) you'll have a plethora of options to choose from. If you didn't partake last night, the Great Horror Campout is an option again on Saturday. (We will most definitely not being seeing you there.) Or, try the strange-but-cool-sounding Aquarian Hoedown: Proton Drive Pop-up Dinner. If you're in the mood for a movie, your options are to go and see Ferris Bueller's Day Off via Eat See Hear in Pasadena, Pulp Fiction via Cinespia, or a number of shorts via NewFilmmakers LA.
And finally, if it's shows you're after, here are your options: Pat Benatar at The Greek; The Field at The El Rey; White Fang at The Satellite; Patton Oswalt at Largo; Unfuck the World Day at the Bootleg; the Juicy J Stay Trippy Tour at the House of Blues; or KCRW Summer Nights in Pasadena featuring Hot as Sun.
Sunday
Start your Sunday morning with some major calorie-burning via the 13th Annual River Ride, a biking event that starts and finishes in Griffith Park. Later, you probably know someone fronting bills at the weekly Mr. C Yacht Party, a poolside brunch situation that should pair nicely with 75 and sunny. If that sounds a little too...something, opt instead to take in a screening of Mon Oncle at 11 a.m. at the Billy Wilder Theater. Or, hit up the Mimosa Music Series at Federal Bar, and/or ShopWalk DTLA. Taste of the Nation in Culver City is also a great daytime option, should your wallet somehow permit. Or, try the 5th Annual Malibu Beer Festival, which is only $25.
Should you end up on the west side of town, we suggest trying out Zengo's happy hour, which runs between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. and includes wine, beer, and Latin cocktails for $4 and small plates for $5 to $7. We'd also be curious to try Naam Yoga's Laws of Attraction Workshop, which is free for those who pre-register and runs from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Later, choose from one of the following events to wind down your weekend: a screening of To Wong Foo at The Electric Dusk Drive-In; The Grand Ole Echo Country Music and Sunday BBQ at The Echo; Bone Thugs-N-Harmony at The Observatory; a screening of La Dolce Vita at The Egyptian; performances by The Reflections, Clear Plastic, and Fever The Ghost at The Bootleg; a soundtrack release party for Maron at El Cid; and, finally, the Centenniel Celebration at the Natural History Museum featuring performances by Devo and GZA/Genius.
