Local Republican leaders are pressuring the Democratic contender for Kansas' 4th Congressional District seat, Raj Goyle, to pull an attack ad they claim contains doctored video footage of Mike Pompeo, the GOP's candidate for the seat. See the controversial ad below:

The Wichita Eagle reported that Mark Kahrs, 4th District Republican chairman, said Goyle tampered with and doctored a video of Pompeo.

"Mr. Goyle has tampered with video of Mr. Pompeo, doctoring it to intentionally give a false and untruthful impression," Kahrs said. "Raj Goyle's dishonest and misleading ad against Mike Pompeo crosses the line of acceptable political discourse by any candidate running for any office."

In Goyle's ad, Pompeo appears to be saying, "My role, as I see it in Congress, is not to bring jobs back to Kansas. Fundamentally, not my job."

The full quote is displayed on Goyle's website, and reads:

"My role as I see it in Congress is not to bring jobs back to Kansas... fundamentally not my job. My job is to create the environment where y'all can go create the next great company and create jobs, or Sentry International can, or Cessna or Spirit or Learjet. The federal government is not a job creator. It is a job destroyer -- every time."

Goyle has defended the ad in a statement to The Huffington Post.

"I could not disagree with my opponent more. My number one job in Congress is to fight to create jobs for the 4th District. But, my opponent's record on jobs is very different; he has created jobs in Mexico rather than here in Kansas because it was profitable for his company. He opposes public/private partnerships like the one that saved and created 600 jobs with LearJet, and he has stated that he is not going to Washington to create jobs," he said.
