Greg Norman: 'We Want To Cut Out An American's Heart'

MELBOURNE, Australia – Although the Presidents Cup is, in many respects, billed as The Ryder Cup Light sans the endless parade of functions and formalities, let it be known that captains, players, wives, varying degrees of dignitaries and GTC did flock to a gala dinner on Tuesday in downtown Melbourne.

The event, held at the Crown Palladium, included performances to honor players from each country represented at the week’s matches, the highlight being the Haka war chant by a group from New Zealand.

Among some of the more memorable moments from the captain’s Q&A:

“I’m not making a lot of decisions over there (in the team room), I promise you,” said U.S. captain Fred Couples.

We want to cut out an American’s heart and present it to them on the 18th green,” said International skipper Greg Norman.

“Royal Melbourne will give you a look up her skirt and shut you down very, very quickly,” Norman said.
