I am so excited to share with you my new column titled "Q10 (Ten Questions)".
Each week, I will feature fascinating people from the world's of fashion, architecture, design, culinary, entertainment, and sports.

I choose this format as it provides you with an insider's peek into what motivates and makes them the influencers that they are.

This week, I'm chatting with one of New York City's most prominent restaurateurs, Danny Meyer. He is the CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group and the owner of 16 restaurants including Eleven Madison Park, Blue Smoke, Shake Shack, The Modern, and Gramery Tavern.

1. Whom do you credit for inspiring you to be the person you are today?

Some combination of my 2 parents, 4 grandparents, and our housekeeper, Mary Smith. Each - in his or her own way - gave me a sense of responsibility to do the right thing, and in my own style.

2. What is your favorite get-away-from-it-all destination?

Probably Rome and many other parts of Italy. Somehow I feel most free there to be myself.

3. How do you define your personal style?

Steady eddy. Not too many waves knock me off my surfboard.
