Rain To Continue Into Next Week

Rain To Continue Into Next Week

As you might have noticed, it is raining here in Southern California.

The current storm, the first of three expected this week, is part of a much larger weather pattern stretching across the West Coast, bringing heavy rain and snow from Washington state to Arizona. Up to four inches of rain are forecast in parts of Southern California, while a steep drop in snow levels caused the usual traffic nightmares across the Grapevine and Cajon Pass. The current storm will taper off tonight. with the next storm expected to hit Thursday.

The usual rainy day rush hour chaos ensued this morning, with the CHP reporting 132 accidents during the morning commute, a 300% increase over last week. In Los Feliz, the Los Angeles Fire Department rescued a man from the rain-swollen LA river.

Flood and Mudslide fears have resulted in mandatory evacuations in burn areas including parts of Big Tujunga and Haines Canyon, and The Daily News has published a list of free sandbag distribution centers for those in danger areas.

So be careful out there during your evening commute, think of it as some quality "you" time.
Let's not forget what happened last time it rained.
