Rapid City Rush Hockey Game Ruined By College Students' Vomit

Fans of Rapid City Rush of the Central Hockey League in South Dakota say their night was ruined by college students who vomited all over the ice rink on Friday.

The team involved two college students in an intermission contest usually reserved for fraternity house basements in exchange for two-for-one tickets.

The Rapid City Journal reports that students from the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology and Black Hills State University were chosen to participate in "College Olympics" relay games and wound up leaving a mess on the ice:

During a race that included running on the ice, riding on a cooler and spinning around a hockey stick, the male students chugged four beers each. One student vomited twice and the other male student vomited once, according to spectators. A photo shows one student hunched over with a voluminous stream of vomit pouring from his mouth.

The Associated Press reports the public was frustrated. One fan, Tom Regan, claimed it was "enough to quit as a four-year season ticket holder of two seats." Regan and another fan, Kelly M. Crooks, are worried that night scarred their young children.

“It was meant to be fun, but it went completely wrong," said Rush General Manager Tim Hill, who told KOTA he got plenty of phone calls from other irate fans. "I apologize on behalf the organization. Obviously it was in poor taste. The intermission game was not appropriate, and it's just something we will never do again.”
