The Biggest Regrets We Had In 2013

As 2013 winds down (why does it feel like we always go skidding into the holidays instead of any actual "winding down?") we tend to reflect on the would haves, could haves, and should haves of the year that is closing. We personally wished we had read more books, watched less "Boardwalk Empire," and spent more time in the company of friends instead of texting them. We also regret not volunteering more and worrying too much about our own health problems that while worrisome, were nothing compared to what people face every day.

We asked our Facebook friends what regrets they had of 2013 and here's what some of them said. If you have your own you'd like to share, please post below in comments.

To start, many of you echoed the sentiments of Peggy Bell Nolan who wrote that when it came to regrets, she had "Absolutely nothing -- it's been a fabulous year!" And Michelle Ethridge also would change "not a thing. All is as it should be."

But Mona Low's 2013 wasn't perfect. "A friend passed away unexpectedly, so yes , I would like to go back ....." she wrote.

And Deb Hancock Tullos wishes she "would have stayed with my daughter in OKC after her C section and another hospital stay. Her husband had to go to work out of town. I was back there a week later because she developed pneumonia. Other than that, this has been a great year." Tullos shared another highlight of 2013 as well. "I stepped out of comfort zone and became a democratic chairman for my county and am putting all kinds of new wrinkles on my brain..lol"

And Max Brill also had some good news in 2013 that he wouldn't change for the world. He "welcomed my first child into the world at 48, life is good."
