What does a superstar football player do the day after he gets married?
Post an insanely catchy, quite odd music video, if you're talking about Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, who married college sweetheart Rebecca Liddicoat in Denver on Saturday.
"Check out the first official video release of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Griffin III," is how RG3 put it on Sunday on Facebook, by way of introduction to a video called "Pop Rocks and Tootsie Pops" (we're warning you, you will get the song stuck in your head):
What exactly is happening in this video is hard to say. The Redskins' Rookie of the Year is masked throughout the entirety of the video while his wife and another woman -- possibly Liddicoat's sister Lindsey -- dance alongside Griffin wearing headphones and holding, you guessed it, Pop Rocks and Tootsie Pops.
And what does the video mean? The DC Sports Bog, which notes that the video has been on YouTube for a couple of months now, has some ideas:
As for the song’s hook, “Pop Rocks and Tootsie Pops,” it may not be as random as people think. That exact phrase turned up in February after some provocative uses of the candy were revealed during the Jodi Arias murder trial. I’m looking forward to RGIII’s second official video release, “If The Glove Doesn’t Fit.”
