Rick Perry Takes Texas Jobs Pitch To Maryland

Perry's 'Tired Old PR Gimmick' Slammed By Another Dem Gov

Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) is taking his jobs pitch to another state, telling people in Maryland to "think Texas."

“When you grow tired of Maryland taxes squeezing every dime out of your business, think Texas, where we've created more jobs than all the other states combined," Perry says in a new ad, according to the Baltimore Sun and WTOP.

Perry takes a swipe at Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley (D) in the ad, saying he's "made Maryland the tax and fee state."

O'Malley called the ad a "tired old PR gimmick" and invited Perry to visit Maryland.

"Gov. Perry should come to Maryland to see firsthand the better choices that have led to these better results," O'Malley said in a statement.

Perry has previously taken his jobs pitch to Illinois and California, among other states. In July he said the move is "not about me," but about the "business climate" in different states.
