Twitter users were less than impressed at the Republican National Committee’s attempt to troll the Democratic National Committee.
The RNC faced backlash on Thursday after it shared this spoof DNC “summer meeting schedule” on its official Twitter account:

— GOP (@GOP) August 23, 2018
The forms included a fake “schedule of events open to the press” with titles such as “Breaking the ICE,” “Softball Questions, “Til Debt Do Us Part” and “More Moral Victories!” However, the post missed the mark with many tweeters:
The GOP tried to make a funny. Sad.

Did you pick that up from your Russian Intelligence cohorts?

Are you 12? 💁🏽♀️

Omg . This is sadly pathetic! Shame on you and your level of maturity . Sad . REALLY Sad!!

You're hilarious. Trolling 0/10

Continue to embarrass yourselves, guys! Not much you can do at this point I guess.
— Merisa (@HeyRisa) August 23, 2018
Shouldn’t you be creating jobs or something?
— Dizzle (@ThrizzleDizzle) August 24, 2018
The lack of self-awareness here is staggering.
— mikey babb (@that_mikeyguy) August 24, 2018
Good one. I bet nobody pays any attention to the National Enquirer news now.
— Animastj (@Animastjw) August 23, 2018
I see your still working with the slogan "nobody goes as low as the GOP". Keeping it classy, per usual.
— AF (@Ameferguson) August 24, 2018
Did Mike "Dad Joke" Huckabee write these knee slappers?
— Abuelita Gordita (@laurita6790) August 23, 2018
Really?
— Teresa Berkowitz (@TeresaBerkowitz) August 24, 2018
It would have been better to tweet nothing at all. #GOPComplicit
Did you really go to college and take out student loans just so you could get a job where you post things like this, Comms team? #sad #butmorepathetic
