Robin Williams: 'The Crazy Ones' More Relaxing Than 'Mork & Mindy' (VIDEO)

Robin Williams LOVES 'The Walking Dead'

After more than three decades away, Robin Williams is returning to television this fall with his new show, "The Crazy Ones." The comedian talked about the upcoming CBS series during his visit to "The Tonight Show," noting that after 30-plus years, it's wonderful to be back -- and alongside such a "terrific" co-star, Sarah Michelle Gellar.

"The Crazy Ones" is Wiliams' first regular TV role since "Mork & Mindy" went off the air in 1982 and a lot has changed since then. When asked if he felt any pressure this time around, Williams said he actually felt more relaxed. "When we started off, 32 years ago, there were only three networks," he pointed out. "The competition was, you know, small. Now it’s just an open field.”

Williams joked that he hopes his new show lasts at least four months, but if it doesn't work, maybe he can make his way onto cable's biggest hit. He admitted that he loves AMC's "The Walking Dead," calling it his favorite show.

As for his admiration for Gellar, that appears to be mutual. She told HuffPost TV that the fact that Robin Williams was involved in "The Crazy Ones" is what made her want to be a part of it.

Look for the series premiere of Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar in "The Crazy Ones" on September 26 on CBS. Catch "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" every weeknight at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC.
