You Can Expect To Meet More Of Roger Ailes' Skeletons In Book, TV Series

Megyn Kelly's adding a chapter about Ailes in her upcoming book as Tom McCarthy plans a miniseries.

It looks like the very public cleaning out of Roger Ailes’ closet is far from over.

The disgraced former Fox News boss will reportedly be the subject of a miniseries produced by Tom McCarthy ― whose work on “Spotlight” earned him an Oscar ― and based on reporting by New York Magazine’s Gabriel Sherman, The New York Times reports.

Sherman’s numerous exposés on Ailes ― which will serve as the show’s source material ― were the basis for the sexual harassment scandal that resulted in his ouster.

Meanwhile, Fox News star Megyn Kelly plans to add a revealing chapter about the scandal to her forthcoming book. Her own accusations of sexual harassment led to other women speaking out about Ailes, who still denies all allegations against him.

“Nobody knew if she was really going to address this ... but she’s added a chapter to her book,” Vanity Fair contributing editor Sarah Ellison said Wednesday at the company’s New Establishment Summit in San Francisco, where both of the Ailes projects were announced.

It’s yet unclear what either product will shed light on, but it certainly doesn’t stand to be good news for Ailes.

Sherman’s journalistic campaign against the former CEO began in 2011, when he started work on what would eventually be published as a damning and controversial book, The Loudest Voice in the Room. Ailes was so scared of Sherman’s probe that he commissioned an internal, 400-page “opposition research” study on the journalist, CNN Money reports.

If Sherman had his way, the upcoming miniseries would have star power in front of the camera, too. When asked Wednesday who should play Ailes, Sherman suggested John Goodman or Anthony Hopkins, who “in the Hitchcock Film was a spitting image.”

The show has yet to secure a network partner, according to the Times.
