Not even the schedule makers can keep up with Cristiano Ronaldo. With a hat trick against Galatasaray in a Champions League match on Tuesday, the Real Madrid star now has more goals (206) for Real Madrid than he has appearances with the club (204).

A goal against Villarreal in La Liga on Saturday gave Ronaldo 203 goals in his first 203 matches for the Merengues in all competitions, as noted by Goal.com. A day after that La Liga match at El Madrigal, the club announced a massive contract extension for the 28-year-old Portuguese star, reportedly making him the highest-paid player in Spain. On Tuesday night in Istanbul, Ronaldo looked worth many of those pennies as he delivered a three-goal performance in a 6-1 rout.

After Isco and Karim Benzema staked Madrid to a 2-0 lead in the Group B fixture, Ronaldo began his late-game goal spree with a clinical finish in front of net in the 63rd minute.

Such is the embarrassment of Carlo Ancelloti's riches that he was able to send Gareth Bale into the fray after Ronaldo gave his side a 3-0 lead with his first goal of the match. The club's latest record-setting acquisition fired in a free kick that led to Ronaldo's second score of the night.

With the result assured and the final whistle moments away, Ronaldo ended the rout in stunning style, completing his hat trick with masterful maneuvering amid three defenders in the Galatasaray penalty area and a powerful left-footed blast past Fernando Muslera.

On the same night that Ronaldo netted his 204th, 205th and 206th club goals since joining Madrid from Manchester United in June 2009 by way of a then-record £80 million transfer, a former teammate reached a scoring milestone elsewhere. Wayne Rooney notched his 199th and 200th career goals for Manchester United with a brace against Bayer Leverkusen in another Champions League matchup. Certainly no slouch in the scoring department, Rooney tallied his double century across 406 appearances in all competitions since arriving at Old Trafford in 2004.
