Manchester, England, residents used the power of social media to help stranded concert-goers after a deadly blast at the city’s Ariana Grande performance Monday night.

Using the hashtag #RoomForManchester on Twitter, locals alerted anyone struggling to get home to spare beds, couches and floor space. Even those who weren’t able to host guests shared the hashtag, including Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham, helping it trend on Twitter.

The explosion, which killed at least 19 people and injured about 50, at Manchester Arena, closed off parts of the city and disrupted transportation, leaving many seeking refuge for the night. Police said they were investigating the blast as terrorism.

Others remarked that such generosity during a tragedy was helping restore their lost faith in humanity.
