Rosie O'Donnell's working on a brand new project, but it's not another talk show. She's working on improving her health.

The comedian and activist, 51, reportedly announced at an American Heart Association event on Friday (Feb. 14), that she underwent weight loss surgery last year. Fox 2 news reporter Roop Raj tweeted her announcement, which O'Donnell retweeted.

The mother-of-five suffered a heart attack in August of 2012, in which 99 percent of her LAD artery was blocked; she wrote that her particular type of heart attack has been nicknamed the "Widow Maker" because it is very often lethal, and that she was lucky to have survived it. She later told People that the episode taught her "to take care" of herself and prompted her to lose weight.
