THE INSPIRATION: Jockeys like 24-year-old royal, Charlotte Casiraghi

HAIR: Influenced by the chic equestrian style, Neil Moodie for Bumble and Bumble perfected a super thick braid. He prepped hair with Prep and Thickening Sprays. Then he worked in Styling Creme from roots to ends before power blow-drying. Next, Moodie pulled strands back into a ponytail below the occipital bone. Hair extensions were added, backcombed and flat ironed to create a dense texture. The pro brushed and plaited locks. To finish, Moodie set the hairdo with Shine On Finishing Spray.

MAKEUP: Lead makeup artist James Kaliardos for MAC Cosmetics crafted a strong face comprised of three iconic beauty signatures. "The brow is inspired by Elizabeth Taylor; liner inspired by Jacqueline de Ribes from a 1950s photograph by Richard Avedon and blush inspired by Sheena Easton," said Kaliardos.

He started by applying MAC Lash in 21 and mascara. Then he used Penultimate Eye Liner to draw on an elongated line at front of lash line and thick at end. "The line is raised slightly above to give a sort of Japanimation eye," Kaliardos added.

Cake Mix cream shadow (available Spring 2012 as part of palette) was brushed onto the lids and Copperplate eyeshadow was applied in center of upper crease to define eye. He swept on Peaches Powder Blush in an angled motion and finished with nude lipstick.

NAILS: Manicurist Yuna Park reinterpreted the sleek lines found in silk jackets worn by jockeys into seven different graphic designs. Ruffian's Brian Wolk and Claude Morais handpicked two unique shades to paint onto the press-on nails, with each model flashing a manicure of warm and cool colors.
