Rush Limbaugh Criticizes Newt Gingrich: I'm Tired Of 'Whining About Negative Campaigning'

Rush Limbaugh complained that the GOP candidates were "whining" too much about negative campaigning on his radio show on Monday.

He expressed his belief that the negative ads are inevitable, asking "What in the world is politics?" if it did not include such harsh attacks. He was particularly critical of Newt Gingrich's campaign for attacking Mitt Romney's ads as dishonest. Romney has spent about $16 million on ads in Florida, compared to Gingrich's $4 million.

Limbaugh criticized Gingrich, saying, "I'm having a tough time relating to being upset about that as someone who is routinely lied about everyday and has been for twenty-five years." He added, "He doesn't have a microphone everyday and I do, but I don't use it to deal with the critics, I ignore 'em."

The radio host said that Gingrich could win voters over with the conservatism he displayed in his exchange with Juan Williams. But he blasted the candidate for blaming his performance at last Thursday's debate on being "shellshocked" from Romney's ads. Limbaugh asked, "I don't know if that is a ploy for sympathy, but what in the world do either of these two guys think is gonna happen when any either of 'em ends up facing Obama?"
