Ryan Reynolds In Details: 'Green Lantern' Star Talks Different Hollywood Roles

Ryan Reynolds: 'I'm Really Lucky That...'

Though Hollywood has jam packed the summer movie schedule with an embarrassment of big budget epics, high ticket prices may force moviegoers to choose their entertainment wisely. With the star power on display over the next few months, disappointment at missing some may hit hard, but with at least one megastar, exposure is not limited to fans of just one genre.

Depending on your tastes in cinema and ocular tolerance for 3D projection, there's a Ryan Reynolds offering for you. And that suits his career ambitions just fine.

Speaking to Details Magazine, Reynolds discussed, among other things, the roles he works to get now that, two decades into his career, he's finally an A-List actor.

"I'm really f**king lucky that I hit it late," he told the magazine. "None of this happened to me in my early twenties, so I didn't configure myself at an early age in the audience's mind as one guy."

Aside from perhaps handsome, it's true; Reynolds this summer plays both a reluctant, fearful intergalactic superhero in "Green Lantern," and a cocky ladies man in "The Change-Up." Last year, he featured in the overlooked indie "Buried," in which he was locked, the entire movie, in a coffin, the panicked only man on screen. And of course there's his Sandra Bullock co-starring romantic comedy that helped launch him to the top of casting lists.

Knowing that it's so difficult to not get pegged in one role, Reynolds is almost committing a Hollywood heist.

"You want me to declare? I'm not declaring nothing, man! I'm getting away with something I'd like to continue getting away with," he told the magazine.

While he says he's not sure what he's doing next, he is committed to a graphic novel-based ghost cop film with Jeff Bridges, called "R.I.P.D."
