Young Woman Suffers Heart Attack Running San Francisco Half Marathon

SAN FRANCISCO -- A 30-year-old woman suffered a heart attack mid-Sunday morning while running a half-marathon in the city, a fire dispatcher said.

Paramedics responded about 9:45 a.m. to Marina Boulevard at Laguna Street for a report of a collapsed runner taking part in the San Francisco Rock n' Roll Half Marathon, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

The woman was in cardiac arrest but was revived by paramedics and taken to a hospital in serious condition, the dispatcher said.
