Sarai Michaels Stabbed To Death In Room At Hotel Felix, Police Say (VIDEO)

VIDEO: Wisconsin Woman Found Stabbed To Death In Hotel Felix

Police are investigating the death of a Wisconsin woman who was found stabbed in her hotel room early Tuesday.

Sarai Michaels, 31, of La Crosse, Wis., was found dead in her 12th floor room at Hotel Felix in River North at 12:38 a.m. Tuesday morning, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines told Fox News Chicago. Police are questioning three people, two women and one man, in connection to the incident, and are investigating surveillance footage that shows a man in a hooded sweatshirt following the victim onto the elevator, sources told Fox.

Michaels sustained multiple stab wounds and was found lying beside a bloody knife, police officials told KWQC News.

Belmont area detectives are investigating the death as a homicide, according to Fox. A car with Minnesota plates reportedly belonging to a person of interest was towed from the hotel, and police may be looking for a suspect in the south suburbs. Police do not believe the attack was random.

Police are investigating the possibility that Michaels was being held in her room against her will by a group of women, and was attacked when she tried to leave, NBC Chicago reports. Hotel general manager George Jordan said one first-time guest was registered to the room and two keys were issued.

"[There's] absolutely no reason to have any fear whatsoever," Jordan said. "We do know the police took some people of interest into custody. This was not a random event, they knew each other."

An autopsy is planned. Michaels is a mother of five, according to ABC Chicago.
