Sharon Osbourne Gets Candid About Her 'Complete And Utter Breakdown' On 'The Talk'

"I couldn’t think, I couldn’t talk, I could do nothing. My brain just shut down on me.”

Sharon Osbourne has opened up about suffering a “complete and utter breakdown” in 2015, which led her to take a five-week-long leave from “The Talk.”

On Monday’s Season 7 premiere of the talk show, Osbourne revealed to her co-hosts exactly what she was going through when she was absent last year. The 63-year-old explained that she now as “a good grip on the problem that I have.”

“I’m in control. It doesn’t control me,” she said, before providing more details for her co-hosts and the audience.

“I had a complete and utter breakdown,” Osbourne said. “I woke up in Cedars-Sinai Hospital and for probably three days, I knew nothing. I couldn’t think, I couldn’t talk, I could do nothing. My brain just shut down on me.”

The Brit noted that her condition left her head feeling like it was “a whirlpool, going round and round and round.”

Osbourne said her breakdown was likely the result of “taking on too much of life” and juggling a busy schedule. Being prescribed the wrong medication also contributed the severity of her condition, Osbourne said.

“The medication is a nightmare, because there are so many different medications to take, and it’s what fits your chemical makeup,” she said. “It took me probably a good six, seven months to find the right combination of medications [and] the right therapist.”

After finally figuring out which medications worked for her, Osbourne said she went to another treatment center where she learned to meditate and “to find spirituality.”

“When problems come in now, where I would have folded, I’m like, ‘OK, bring it on, I can do it,’” she said.
