Shopping Cart Attack In The Bronx Injures Sagne Ibrahima And Camara Lounceny (VIDEO)

City's Second Shopping Cart Attack Leaves Two Injured

Two cab drivers are currently in stable condition after being brutally struck in the head by a shopping cart in what officials believe was a deliberate attack stemming from a taxi driver rivalry.

Drivers Sagne Ibrahima And Camara Lounceny were walking into the entrance of a Home Depot at the Gateway Center near 149th Street and River Avenue Monday evening, when a cart from the third floor plummeted onto the drivers.

A Home Depot employee described the scene, "I saw the cart next to the guys. They weren't moving. It was like a hole in one guy's head and blood everywhere. It was just scary."

The two victims were taken to Lincoln Hospital, where 52-year old Lounceny was first listed as being in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable condition.

Monday's attack marks the city's second shopping cart assault in the last three months.

In October, a 47-year old mother and philanthropist was left in critical condition after two teenage boys tossed a shopping cart from the fourth floor of an East Harlem Target.

Slowly recovering, Marion Hedges was left in a coma and suffered serious brain damage. Hedges forgave the children and voiced her concern for the economic and social conditions that the boys were being raised in.
