Siobhan Anderson, Mom, Gives Birth To Twins On Two Different Highways (VIDEO)

WATCH: Mom Gives Birth To Twins On Two Different Highways

Delivering a baby on the side of the road is unusual, but certainly not unheard of. However, Long Island woman Siobhan Anderson doubled down on shock value when she gave birth to twins over the weekend on two different highways.

Siobhan was due to give birth to her boys next Friday. But on Saturday, at about 5:30 a.m., her water broke, ABC news reports, and she and her husband Bryan headed straight to the hospital.

They weren't far from home when Siobhan started having contractions and even felt the first baby's head. "She kept screaming, 'The babies are coming ... "I was like, 'I think we have time to at least get to the hospital,'" Bryan told ABC News.

But, no such luck. The couple pulled over and called 911. Thankfully, EMTs arrived on the scene in time to deliver. Baby boy Gavin John was born on a stretcher right on the side of the Southern State Parkway, the AP reports.

According to ABC News, the EMTs decided everyone should proceed to the closest hospital for Gavin's brother to be born. But ten minutes into the drive, it happened again. The group pulled over and Siobhan had her second baby, Declan Michael, on the highway. The only difference this time was that they'd gotten off the Southern State and were now on the Wantagh State Parkway, the AP reports.

Two babies born on two highways, to one mom on one day.

"I'm still in shock that it happened. I can't believe I was able to do that," Siobhan, who was planning to have an epidural, told ABC News. Mom and both babies are doing well and plan to go home Friday.

It's a tight race for the most remarkable highway birth story -- Siobhan's experience is unique, but she faces tough competition from Amanda McBride, the Minnesota mom who delivered her own baby while driving herself to the hospital. Read McBride's story below, and find out about more of the craziest birthplaces we've heard of... yet.
