SNL Gun Control Cold Open: Obama, Manchin, Toomey Talk New Gun Legislations (VIDEO)

'SNL' Takes On Gun Control

"Saturday Night Live" kicked off its Vince Vaughn-helmed episode with a cold open that focused on the continuing gun control debate.

President Obama (Jay Pharoah) started off by announcing the good news that this week "the Senate voted 68 to 31 to begin debating the idea of discussing gun control." He continued, "Let me say that again, they've agreed to think about talking about gun control... amazing."

He then introduced Senators Joe Manchin (Jason Sudeikis) and Patrick Toomey (Bill Hader) who reluctantly recapped the progress they've made thus far, including making it illegal to shoot three or more guns at the same time ("Unfortunately, the punishment is we give you a fourth gun...").

Watch the clip above and let us know if you think "SNL" nailed it.
