St. Louis Airport: Tornado Damaged Concourse To Reopen In April (PHOTOS)

Tornado-Ravaged St. Louis Concourse To Reopen

In April 2011, a tornado tore through Lambert-St. Louis' International Airport, lifting the roof off of Concourse C, spewing glass and sending at least four people to the hospital.

The hardest hit area of the airport, remains closed due to extensive renovation, but Airport Director Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge has now told airport commissioners that she plans to have the concourse reopened by the one-year anniversary of the disaster.

The concourse's restrooms and windows are being restored and new ceilings and lighting has been added, St.LouisToday.com reports.

In the aftermath of the tornado, videos from inside the airport went viral on YouTube, from the glass being smashed while passengers waited at a gate, to security camera footage inside the concourse.
