Hotel employees sprang into action, and a 35-year-old apparent hotel employee was cut in the chest while trying to stop the robber, said the Sun-Times.

Police stormed the nearby Cheesecake Factory and took a man into custody near the John Hancock Center, reports the Sun-Times.

Both Shah and the 35-year-old man were hospitalized, and both are expected to recover.
