Porter House NY is an upscale steakhouse located right by Central Park in Manhattan. The cheapest steak on the dinner menu is $32 -- this is the type of place place you go to when your parents are in town. The good folks at Zagat recently challenged Michael Lomonaco, chef of Porter House NY, to create a dish using the frozen supermarket staple "Steak Umm," often used for creating Philly cheesesteaks. Lomonaco took on the challenge like a pro and managed to create a haute cuisine version of Steak-Umms. Who says high-brow and low-brow can't intermingle?
