Stephen Hawking Is 'Very Proud Of' Eddie Redmayne For Oscar Win

Eddie Redmayne won the Oscar for Best Actor Sunday night for his portrayal of Professor Stephen Hawking in "The Theory of Everything." Following his win, Hawking took to Facebook to share a sweet note:

In his acceptance speech, an excited Redmayne dedicated his award to those who have inspired him. "This belongs to all of those people around the world battling ALS," he said. "It belongs to one exceptional family [the Hawkings]."
