Steve Stockman Pitches Hill Event: 'Grab Free Donuts And Coffee Before Obama Grabs Your Gun!'

GOP Rep: 'Grab Free Donuts And Coffee Before Obama Grabs Your Gun!'

Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) on Thursday attempted to draw attendees to an upcoming Capitol Hill event with a brief advisory featuring pro-gun paranoia and the promise of free breakfast.

"Grab free donuts and coffee before Obama grabs your gun!" said the invitation from Stockman's office to Hill staffers, according to Politico.

The pitch was for a Monday event called "The Fallacy of Gun Free School Zones," which will reportedly feature an appearance from Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America.

Stockman has been one of the loudest opponents of gun control efforts since his return to Congress at the beginning of the year. Pratt has joined Stockman's latest cause, a letter encouraging his congressional colleagues to push Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio) not to consider any gun control legislation unless a majority of House Republicans have announced plans to support it.

While gun confiscation has not been included in any gun control proposal put forth by President Barack Obama or Congress, pro-gun advocates such as Stockman have claimed that such a grab is on the horizon. The congressman didn't even wait to hear Obama's anti-gun violence proposals last month before floating impeachment as a potential recourse.

Stockman also made news earlier this month by inviting controversial pro-gun rocker Ted Nugent to the State of the Union.
