'Storage Wars': Darrell Gambles Big On Collectibles

Darrell Sheets may well have made his biggest gamble ever on the latest episode of "Storage Wars." He certainly dropped more cash on a unit than he ever had -- even if it was a giant unit. What he was gambling on was that the unit was filled with boxes of collectibles. The problem was he had no idea what was in the boxes before he spent $13,500 on the unit.

“This is the most I’ve ever spent on a locker. I’m about to enter holy grail territory," he said. But as he started going through the box, it proved to be everything he hoped it would be. "Every box! Cards, collectibles. This is why I do this," he said with glee.

The locker was filled with sports memorabilia, rare movie posters and vinyl records. But the big money items came from all the World War II memorabilia in there as well. He took the historical artifacts to an expert who told him he certainly had some big items there.

All said, the contents of the unit came up to a whopping $40,275, earning Darrell a profit of more than $25,000. Not to mention all the fun to be had in digging through all those neat collectibles.

See what gets discovered next on "Storage Wars," Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on A&E.
