Indie Summer: Great Films Are Coming In August

Indie Summer

Nothing says "August" like some quality, independent film. At least for us. Maybe, for you, August says "Oh crap, the summer's almost over," or "I really don't want to go back to school," or "Oh my God, if I have to stand on this horrible, oppressively hot subway platform for another five seconds I'm going to kill someone," but for us: it says independent cinema.

Indeed, the waning months of summer will be slower for the big budget films, but should prove to be a treasure trove for the indie award-winners. From the explosive madness of "Bellflower," to the more mainstream "Our Idiot Brother," to the moving, international favorite "Senna," there's a lot for cinephiles to love in August.

Below, watch the trailers and learn about six great indies hitting theaters this month. Some will only be available in limited release, but let's hope the majority of them spread across the country in due time.
