Supreme Court Statements: Plaintiffs, Attorneys Comment After Prop 8 Arguments (VIDEO)

Plaintiffs, Attorneys Address Media After Supreme Court Hearing

After the Supreme Court hearing on Proposition 8, California's ban on same-sex marriage, concluded Tuesday, plaintiffs and attorneys in the case addressed the media outside the courthouse.

"With the passage of Proposition 8, we learned that there is a group of people in California who are not being treated equally," plaintiff Kris Perry said.

Attorney David Boies felt "very, very gratified" that the Supreme Court heard the case and said he awaits the court's decision, which is likely to come in June.

Hollingsworth v. Perry isn't the only gay marriage case the Supreme Court will hear this week. On Wednesday, the justices will hear oral arguments in a challenge to the Defense of Marriage Act.
