Tate announces Turner Prize nominees

The Turner Prize Nominees Are Out!

The four nominees for the 30th anniversary edition of the Turner Prize, the UK's most prestigious prize for artists under 50, were announced today.

The artists are Duncan Campbell, Ciara Phillips, James Richards and Tris Vonna-Michell, who all work in non-traditional media, including film, video and the spoken-word. Three of the four nominees studied at the Glasgow School of Art. They are Duncan Campbell (b. 1972, Dublin) and James Richards (b. 1983, Cardiff) who were selected for work presented at the 55th Venice Biennale, as well as Tris Vonna-Michell (b. 1982, Southend-on-Sea). He was selected for his solo exhibition at Jan Mot in Brussels. Meanwhile, Ciara Phillips (b. 1976, Ottawa), was selected for a solo show in The Showroom, London.
