Tonight, I'm joined by the incredibly talented singer-songwriter Jewel. The four-time Grammy nominee has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide throughout her notable career. Her new musical project, titled Picking Up the Pieces, harkens back to the folk roots of her breakthrough 1995 debut album, Pieces of You. Also an accomplished author, Jewel recently released a memoir that chronicles her remarkable life journey. The book, which is now a New York Times bestseller, is called Never Broken: Songs Are Only Half the Story.

In the clip below, Jewel reveals how -- by being so transparent in her music and written work -- she has been able to find strength through her own vulnerability.
