Taylor Swift sat in a red and white striped dress, in front of a group of very lucky fans in Nashville, Tenn. (and the millions of fans watching via YouTube chat) Monday night, to reveal the details surrounding her next studio album, titled "Red."
"I have some really big news, I'm really excited because I have a new album coming out October 22 and I wanted to tell you about it and I wanted to tell you all about it right now," she told the crowd, which promptly erupted in cheers. "We've already done so much work on this, we've been working on it for two years."
A gracious Swift then answered a number of questions from the crowd, including a few lucky Google+ Hangout users who were able to video chat with the singer. Swift revealed the album title, "Red," comes from a song that will appear on the record, but the title track won't be the first single -- that honor will be given to what's sure to be the next breakup anthem, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together."

Though we'll have to wait until October for the entire album to drop, the world can spend the next few weeks speculating what (and who) the 16 songs will be about. Swift's last album, "Speak Now," pulled from her past relationships with John Mayer, Joe Jonas and a few other famous fellas, giving us all a peek into her frequent heartache. The messages in the jacket of the compact disc of "Speak Now" dropped clever hints, clueing fans in on which songs were about which men.
When a fan asked the 22-year-old whether we could expect some similar messages this time around Swift replied, "It's pretty difficult to come up with because I know that you guys are going to figure them out and so I'm trying not to be too cryptic with it, but I'm also trying not to, ya know, give it all away. With the last album it was this guessing game and people pretty much figured everything out ... I thought I was much more clever and cryptic about it than I really was."
Along with the news of the album and single, Swift also unveiled the cover art for "Red."
