Teller County Deputies Allegedly Found Drunk, Charged With Child Abuse (UPDATE)

Kendal Klug and Joni Coleman, two Teller County deputies, were charged with misdemeanor child abuse after allegedly being drunk and leaving four children unsupervised that were left under their care, according to The Denver Post.

UPDATE:

The Colorado Springs Gazette is reporting that the two deputies that were allegedly found drunk, passed out, and neglecting four children left in their care are no longer working for the Teller County Sheriff's office. The Sheriff's office did not release any additional information about Klug or Coleman.

EARLIER:

KRDO reports that Park County deputies were called to a residence around 12:30 a.m. after receiving a report of an unresponsive man at the home. When they arrived at the scene, they found both Klug and Coleman intoxicated and passed out with the four children in their care untended, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette.

Authorities placed the children in the care of other adults and did not release specific details of the children's ages or their relationships to either Klug or Coleman, according to 9News.
