Whether you work in SEO, PPC, UX, Social Media or any other area of digital marketing, now is the time to book a few events into your calendar. A number of these conferences sell out quick, so make sure to get the early bird tickets. Below are the key talks and events you can't afford to miss this year in the UK.
Plus, if you think you will be attending any of these, make sure to send me a message as I will try to visit as many as possible.
Taking place in 4 different cities during 2017, you can attend Measurecamp in London on the 25th March, however tickets are very hard to come by. With a focus on web analytics, this conference is different to any other you have attended in the past, with the schedule being made on the day and speakers being attendees.
Taking place on the 16th an 17th of October, this event last had big hitters Rand Fishkin and Will Critchlow making impressive talks. This conference covers several different areas, including content, analytics and search tactics.
The digital marketing roundtable event in Brighton is set in the downstairs of the Globe and allows marketers to get a close discussion with some of the top influencers in the world, while enjoying a good few pints. The event was only just setup in 2016, but has already grown significantly and will be going on tour during the summer.
There is a distinct lack of PPC conferences here in the UK, however on the 24-26th October you can attend probably the biggest one in Europe, as Hero Conf visits our shores. There were 40 speakers at the 2016 event, including Larry Kim of Wordstream and Tor Thompson of Bing.
With a strong policy against any recording, Ungagged allows key marketers to share their hidden tricks, without the information being shared to the masses. This level of exclusivity means you get a much more detailed and useful talk than you would receive at most other events. The next event will be on the 15-16th June 2017, however if you do feel like going abroad, it is hard to say no to their next event in Vegas on the 12-15th November.
Manchester is fast growing into a digital hub and Camp Digital perfectly resembles the growing industry in the city. Hosted at Manchester Town Hall, it will take place on the 24th May, however early bird tickets flew past in record time, therefore you must now pay the full price for a ticket. This is a must for anyone working in UX or design.
Taking place in the Olympia Central in London, Marketing Week Live is kicking off on the 8th March for two days. This is a great event to meet representatives of leading solution providers and to find out how to adapt your marketing strategy for 2017. The workshops are also top notch and vary drastically.
Starting out in the Quadrant, a pub in central Brighton, it has grown from 30 people to almost 4,000 in just a few years. One of the key battles BrightonSEO aimed to challenge was that a free conference didn't mean it was lower quality. In fact, it is recognised now as one of the best in the world, despite tickets remaining free. Since it moved to its new home in the Brighton Centre, they have managed to answer the demand for an increase in tickets, with a potential capacity of 10,000. Taking place twice a year, the next event will be on the 7th April.
Another event taking place on the 23-24th May, this is one of the biggest in the world for SEO and SEM, however the price is a bit steep compared to the other events listed. If you work for a team that would be interested in attending, make sure to look at their team rates, where you can benefit from a group discount. Expect all the big hitters to make an appearance, either as a talker or as an attendee.
Search Elite is a one day marketing conference with some key influencers talking at the 2017 event, including Gerry White, Jono Alderson and Russell McAthy. Rather than just focusing on marketing, a number of the talks at Search Elite focus on how this can influence your businesses profitability, a key aspect often ignored in talks. This is also a great event to attend for networking.
