'The Hero': Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Announces New Reality Series

The Rock Is Launching His Own TV Show

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is getting down to business. The newly-returned wrestler has announced he will star in and executive produce Electus' upcoming global action reality series, "The Hero."

Johnson will oversee all the show's contestants who will be stationed in three teams on three different continents. Each episode eliminates contestants by testing their morals, courage and physical strength with only one emerging as "the hero."

“The Hero will bridge the digital and physical world on the small screen in an unmatched fashion, enabling fans to determine the fate of the show's contestants entirely through social media and on-screen decision making,” Johnson said in a statement.

"The Hero" has added quite a bit to Johnson's already full plate. The actor is the rumored star of "Lore," an adaptation of the graphic novel written by Ashley Wood and T.P. Louise, and is currently attached to 8 other projects, including Brett Ratner's "Hercules" and "Empire State" alongside Liam Hemsworth of "The Hunger Games."
