What: Life is Good Festival, Canton MA - I have my favorite mug on my desk and it reads, "Do what you love. Love what you do." It is a Life is Good mug. Everything they do is happy and good. When I heard there was a Life is Good festival I knew I had to attend.

Since I have a six- and an eight-year-old I knew it was going to be a blast. Bands like Kidz Bop Kids and The Fresh Beat Band, along with Dave Matthews and Michael Franti and Spearhead would be there. Wow, this was going to be an amazing weekend for the kids as well as me and my husband! As an added bonus, 100% of all profits went to help kids overcome poverty, violence and illness. Over $1 million was raised to help kids in need through Life is Good nonprofit, The Life is Good Playmakers.

This event was probably the best children's event I have ever attended. Things were run so well. They had everything you could ever need when travelling with kids. They had relaxation areas, water stations where you could refill your water bottles, healthy vendors, healthy food, games, pop-up concerts, crafts, murals and a whole lot of optimism! I highly recommend attending this event if you get the chance! My whole family walked away better people!

Hotel: Hotel Marlowe - When travelling I always look for the greenest hotels with the least impact. At the last minute, I happened to discover Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge, MA. Which is about a 20-minute drive from the festival. It is a Kimpton hotel so I knew it had an eco component. This hotel was stunning! We got an amazing night's sleep! The next day, before returning to the festival, we enjoyed a great breakfast at The Friendly Toast, a very cool little place with great bread, in Cambridge. Thank you to the very friendly hotel concierge.

All in all it was a great family weekend. Next year we will definitely be returning to The Life is Good festival!

Also at the festival my 8-year old daughter, Topanga had the oppurtunity to interview Michael Franti. You can view it by clicking here.

Enjoy the photos!
