Today I will be tolerable of me. Today I will allow myself to make mistakes. Today I am ok, I am good, and I am great! I will celebrate me; I will celebrate the love of me.

'I love me," is a term that I have recently learned to accept fully. I love me means I will forgive me, I will fight for me, and I will take care of me first. Oh, how we would love to take ownership of all of these affirmations! We can, but it will take some thought work. If you begin to allow yourself the opportunity to believe more in you than you believe in another, then you can choose to love oneself fully. When was the last time that you gave yourself the time to think about only you? Can you get to the point in your life that you can say, "Its ok to put the love of me first?"

Society teaches us to help another and look out for another first; as mothers, leaders, and caretakers we know this to be very true because we put others needs before our own most always. But when was the last time that you put the love of you first? Now I am not saying that we all just stop helping others by any means, however; I believe that some women do way more for others than we do for ourselves. Learning to place as much value in our lives as we do the lives of others can change one's life. Can you remember the last time you woke up and said, "What do I want today?" When was the last time that you penciled yourself in on your schedule to do (only) what you want to do? It is imperative that we begin to love ourselves as much as we value the love of another. Today let's say I am ok with the love of me! We can allow room to love ourselves unconditionally. There is freedom in giving to you what you give to another, and that means as much concern as you would give to someone else you can have for yourself as well.

If you believe that you have fallen short in an area of your life, it's ok to give yourself a break and forgive you. Tell yourself, "I forgive you for all your past shortcomings and I am letting go today of what I thought negatively about you yesterday; I am letting go of every false perception and ill belief I have ever had of you; Today I will love you beyond you!" Now accept the responsibility of loving and caring for you. Once we can begin to see and care about ourselves as much as we do others, then we will breathe love into our lives.

Accepting and loving who we are is vital for us to move past where we are to become who we are destined to be. Let's learn how not to get so caught up in loving other people and things that we forget about loving ourselves. Today let's say "yes" to the love of me, I mean you!

Learning to love ourselves enough to work through the hard and painful things in our lives is imperative to a healthy life. I have learned I had to love me first before I could love another. I decided my negative life experiences do not get to dictate my future me. It took some digging to uncover the real me, and I am still on this journey, which I believe will be lifelong. We can evolve if we choose to, or remain stuck with the knowledge of who we are now and never search for any new knowledge of one's self. The road to unveiling the love of me has been a cross country adventure, but I have started, and I am not going back to the old me. I have learned to pray and ask God to help me on this journey of discovering the truth. He has been guiding me and for that, I will be forever grateful.
