'The Soldier's Tale': An Acrobatic Interpretation Of Stravinsky

From June 9th to June 11th a new production of Stravinsky’s “The Soldiers Tale” will be perfomed at Pace University's Schimmel Center for the Arts. Director and Choreographer Jody Oderfelder places the post-World War I story of a young soldier, his violin and the devil into a modern world. Oderfelder's production is full of Vaudevillian spectacle and vibrant physicality. The performers include Jake Szczypek as the Soldier, Rebekah Morin as the Devil, and ChristinaNoel Reaves as the Princess. Christian Coulson, as Narrator. The Knickerbocker Chamber Orchestra musicians, with Music Director, Gary S. Fagin will collaborate with Oberfelder’s dancers to create a compelling live music, dance and theater experience.
