Sheryl Underwood, Co-Host Of 'The Talk,' Says There's No Rivalry Between Them And 'The View'

"The View" and "The Talk" are frequently pitted against each other for sharing a female-driven round-table format on daytime TV. However, according to Sheryl Underwood, a co-host of the latter show, there's no animosity between the two gaggles of ladies.

She credits this to a longstanding friendship between her and former "View" co-host Sherri Shepherd.

"It was from her [Sherri Shepherd's] invite and introduc[tion] to the audience that I went on 'The View' as a Republican who was supporting President Obama to do some political jokes in Joy Behar's comedy corner," she recalled in a HuffPost Live appearance.

"It was Whoopi Goldberg who leaned over to Joy Behar and said 'put this girl on the show,' so that's really how I got on 'The View,'" she said of her recurring spots on the ABC show.

Underwood explained that she tried to do "great work" on "The View" so as to one day "end up on 'The Talk.'" And she won't be trying land a vacant host position on "The View" in the wake of Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy's departures.

"No, I work for CBS -- I can't be invited into the conversation," she said. "I work for 'The Talk!'"

Luckily, she believes the two shows can co-exist peacefully -- and says no tension exists, whatsoever.

"Is there a rivalry? Absolutely not," she affirmed. "There's enough money for everybody."
