Preschool Teacher Theresa Brown Suspected Of Biting 1-Year-Old Child

Preschool Teacher Bit 1-Year-Old Child: Cops

A preschool teacher in Woodbridge, Virginia, has been charged with assault and battery after allegedly biting a 1-year-old student.

Theresa Brown, 24, a teacher at the Goddard School, was arrested Sept. 19 for an alleged incident on Sept. 11 where she bit a 13-month-old boy.

The alleged biting came after the child bit another teacher, police told WUSA9.com. The child sustained a bite mark to his shoulder.

Although a staff member reported the incident to school administrators, the owner of the school, Nadia Choudry, also 24, allegedly told the witness not to report the incident to authorities, Jonathan Perok, a spokesman for the Prince William County Police, told InsideNoVa.com.

Choudry was also arrested and charged with failure to report child abuse or neglect, WJLA TV reports.

Virginia law requires day care workers, teachers and health professionals and others to report suspected abuse and neglect to social services.

An anonymous tipster reported the incident on Sept. 12 to Prince William Child Protective Services. The agency reported it to police.

The assault and battery allegations isn't the only that Brown is facing. Court records obtained by InsideNoVa reveal she also has a pending court date for felony larceny as a third offense.

Her record also shows charges of larceny, embezzlement, grand larceny, resisting arrest, assault and driving on a revoked license.
