HuffPost Live hosted a debate to hear the voices of our third party candidates on the issue of governing. Hosts Marc Lamont Hill and Alicia Menendez moderated the discussion with Andre Barnett, Reform Party candidate, Gary Johnson, Libertarian Party candidate, and Rocky Anderson, Justice Party candidate.
During the debate, Menendez asked each candidate how he defined the role of the federal government.
"The first and foremost responsibility of our government is to protect our country," said Barnett. "But that includes our economy, our health, and the livelihood of our people."
